Last night, it was rather windy.  As we were driving to the store, I noticed a bag floating on the wind.  It went higher and higher until we had driven far enough for it to be out of sight.  When we were on our way home, I noticed a bird.  It was floating on the wind also. For at least two full minutes, I didn’t notice the bird flap its wings.  It was amazing!  It just floated across the sky.  It rose and fell, just as I like to do with my arm on the first beautiful warm spring day when I roll down my car window and stretch out my arm while the wind floats it up and down, much in the same pattern as the bird.

I love that feeling and I have noticed other people doing it on those days also.

I really like floating in a swimming pool.  The weightlessness and the feeling of being alone.  Only hearing muffled sounds, closing my eyes and feeling the sun on my face.

It is simple things, like floating your arm on a warm spring breeze that makes you feel alive.

Holding your boyfriend/husbands hand.  Petting your dog. Getting a card in the mail. A smile from a stranger.  A call from a friend.

Simplicity.  It can be so beautiful.

Have a good day.

What Could Go Right

This Sunday, I am going to show my photographs at an Art Show in Westmont, Illinois.

This is my first time showing any of my art in public.

I am excited!

I spent last evening, matting photos and as I was doing so, I realized just how good I thought some of them were!

Yes, I understand that statement could be understood as me being a braggart.

I’m sorry if you think that.

I don’t mean to sound that way.  I believe people should be allowed to share their talents and not be shy about it.

I’m not concerned about the show not going well, I’m excited about what could happen from this step.

I’m trying something new, stepping out of my comfort zone.

Who knows what this may lead to!

Do something new!  Try something different!

Who knows what it could mean for you!!

Have a great day!
If you want the info, let me know!

DoYour Best

We  must understand what we have been, to decide what we will become.

~John Faulkner

Thinking on recent events, sometimes its hard to understand how people growing up in the same place with the same people can turn out so differently.

I decided long ago that I would not follow the same path as others. I would go my own way.

I wouldn’t worry what others thought, but I would stay true to being a good, kind person and do the best I could to put out positive vibes to the universe.

I’m not gonna lie, some days it’s harder than others to stay in that mindset.

I will continue to do my best, I encourage you to do yours.

Have a wonderful day.

Stand Out

Too often we rush through life and people and things seem like extras in the story of your life.

Take a minute to notice the things and people around you.

The important ones will stand out.

These are the things to care about.

Be aware today.

Notice what’s important to you.

Give these people and things some extra care.

Have a good day.

Only Here for a Little While

Gonna hold who needs holdin’
Mend what needs mendin’
Walk what needs walkin’
Though it means an extra mile
Pray what needs prayin’
Say what needs sayin’
Cause we’re only here for a little while
~Billy Dean
Last week was particularly rough for me.
Monday, my cat passed.
Wednesday, I learned of the horrible accident that changed several lives forever.
Thursday, I learned that my sister had passed away after having a heart attack.
Friday, I spent the day learning things about her I never knew.
She had recently lost her job, and I sent her a card telling her not to sweat it, something would happen to her. That card was hanging on her refrigerator and when I learned that, it made me smile.
Life is short, you just never know what is around the next corner or what is going to happen.
Be free with a few extra hugs.  Tell the people in your life that you care about them.
It’s not too late now…one day it may be.
Have a lovely day.

Make Your Point

I read something the other day, “If you’ve made your point, stop talking.”

Truer words could not have been spoken.

How many times have you been talking to someone and they go on and on saying the same thing over and over?

I don’t know about you, but I just kind of zone out.

Make your point and get on with your life.

No one hears any more from you if you repeat yourself or speak louder or over someone else.

Make your point and stop talking.

Food for thought.

Have a good day.

Yesterday, my thought was about hardship.

I didn’t give any details on the particular hardship that I was going through.

Now, I will share.

For about a month, my family has been helping our cat, Buster.

He became sick and after many vet visits, we discovered he had cancer.

We gave him shots, tried to get him to eat and tried to make his last days with us as non-stressful as possible.

Yesterday, was Buster’s last day with us.  When I got up in the morning, he was lying in the crate, kind of moan-meowing.

When he finally did move, he was very unstable and his abdomen had grown in size. We agreed we would take the afternoon off and take him in to end his suffering as long as Bailey could make himself available.

Bailey came home and was able to spend some time with Buster before we took the trip to the vet.

We were as prepared as you can be to take your animal to the vet for the last time, but there is no way to prepare your heart for the loss.

Buster was a good cat. We brought him home after I saw a picture of him at the vet’s office long ago. He lived with us for 13 years. He would head butt us and snuggle when he wanted to.  He was spoiled and had a very good life.

He passed peacefully with the three of us by his side.

Hug your animals tight today.

Give them an extra scratch or rub.  Maybe even an extra treat.

Enjoy your time together.  It may end sooner than you think.
